I am an experienced Mindfulness practitioner and a trained Mindfulness teacher offering a bespoke service to schools and alternative educational provisions. I am accredited to deliver the Mindfulness curriculum which has been specially devised for young people by the Mindfulness in Schools Project.
Mindfulness is a training programme aimed at helping young people develop their powers of concentration and self-awareness. There is increasing evidence that this can help them cope with the demands of performing well at school and in terms of their interactions with their peers and families. It can also help young people to enhance their well- being and develop resilience for future challenges.
This is a form of Psychotherapy which I use in my work with clients where appropriate. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy helps manage difficulties by addressing the way individuals think and behave.
This talking therapy focuses on the relationship between an individual’s thoughts, feelings and actions, in order to change behaviour it is important to be aware of and address the thought patterns involved.
